The Stew Undem Jazz Coalition Big Band
The Stew Undem Jazz Coalition Big Band was brought together back in 1985 by Stewart Undem, who presently is the entertainment coordinator and director for Lake Arrowhead Village. Stewart is also the low brass instructor at California State University San Bernadino, and California Baptist University in Riverside.
The Coalition features some of the jazz standards as well as band member's original compositions. Stewart Undem's Jazz Coalition is called on to perform special concerts, perform at jazz clubs and restaurants, corporate events, and private parties. The members themselves are noted professional artists in the Southern California area, being involved in recording, teaching, and performing for other venues.
Band leader and Trombonist Stewart Undem of Pasadena, confides, "Our members, all whom also lead their own bands, come together to form this 'Jazz Coalition' for the audience's enjoyment, as well as their own".
