extraordinary band performing a unique blend of Reggae, Latin and Soul sounds. For the 3rd consecutive year, the B-Side Players have been awarded the Best World Music Act award by the San Diego Music Awards Academy. We are very excited to have them join us here on Center Stage!

B-Side Players have been spreading their message of culture, music and family for over 10 years. The San Diego based septet led by front man Karlos Paez, more commonly known as Solrak, was the son of a musician and spent a good deal of his time growing up on the road. He formed B-Side Players in 1993 in San Diego. Most members hail from Mexico. The group built a local following and continues to win music awards each year for their blend of Latin flavored reggae, afro-beat and funk. The band has toured with artists such as Ben Harper, Ozomatli, the Wailers and Papa Roach. They tightened their sound with a newly arranged group of musicians in 2005 and have a new record coming out this year.
